Catherine C. Beatty was born in Los Angeles. She has practiced law since 1994. Ms. Beatty graduated from UCLA in 1984 with a degree in Economics. She worked in banking and finance as an Assistant Vice President for many years at Union Bank, before attending law school. In Union Bank’s Corporate Trust Department, she negotiated and closed multi-million dollar corporate bond transactions.
Ms. Beatty received her juris doctor in 1994 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she was on the Dean’s Honor List. She is admitted to practice in all of the California state courts.
Ms. Beatty’s practice now is primarily business litigation. She has significant appellate experience and was appointed a panel attorney for the California Appellate Project. She was also the lead attorney in the successful negotiation of a high profile, medical malpractice lawsuit, involving dozens of parties. Ms. Beatty has been invited to speak on various news programs, including ABC’s Nightline, World News, MSNBC, Good Morning America, local Los Angeles news, and the BBC.
